Overview

Why Working with Vulnerable People Tasmania?

The Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) Registration is Tasmania's equivalent of the Working with Children Check. Administered by Consumer, Building and Occupational Services (CBOS), it covers work and volunteering with both children and other vulnerable people — making it broader in scope than similar schemes in other states.

Tasmanian organisations in education, healthcare, childcare, aged care, sport, and community services must ensure all workers and volunteers hold a current WWVP Registration before commencing duties. The registration is free for volunteers and just $17.60 for paid workers — one of the most affordable in Australia.

Applications are submitted online through the CBOS portal and the registration is valid for 3 years. Continuous monitoring applies throughout the registration period, meaning CBOS can review or revoke a registration if new relevant information comes to light.
